Capabilities

• Self-priming (capable of starting without fluid provided the pump is not dry, otherwise a small amount of water should be used)
• Can draw against a negative head (vacuum) of five metres

Uses

• Pumping fragile products like whole milk, yoghurt containing fruit pieces, ice cream, beverages, wine, beer and pharmaceutical creams.
• Transferring milk from milking machine suction can to farm cooler vat.. more about milk pumping on farms... 
• Sucking product out of drums
• At a slower speed (motor wormbox version) these pumps also handle viscous products like honey, fruit juice concentrate, mayonnaise, chutneys, meat bastes and jams.
• Transferring product to filling/packaging machines

Features

• White silicone flexible impellers have been developed from food grade silicon by Nuphlo Pumps.  See silicone flexible impeller page.
• All pump components are made from 316L stainless steel by the high accuracy investment casting process, and machined and polished to a high finish. The transition housing (connection between motor and pump head) is also cast in 316L stainless steel.. more about stainless steel pumps...
• The Nuphlo unique stub shaft connection between the impeller and motor reduces pump overhang and extends the life of the impeller, bearings and seals. Grub screw clamping, commonly used on traditional pumps, is eliminated. The seals set automatically with no further adjustment required.
• Dismantling and re-assembly is easily accomplished by undoing the wing nuts on the PD15 and PD30 pumps and the star knob on the PD20 pump to gain quick access to all movable parts for manual cleaning or seal maintenance.
• A standard mechanical seal is fitted with the option of hard faced or water flushed seals for crystallizing or viscous products.. more about seals in this application ... These pumps are suitable for handling viscous fluids up to 500 centipoise (liquid honey) and are usually coupled to motor wormboxes.

• Pumps are reversible and can be run in either direction.
• CIP to 90°C can be tolerated for cleaning.
• Inlet and outlet ports are cast and machined as integral parts of the pump case (not welded-on to become future corrosion sites).
• Inlet and outlet ports can be set up in different positions by simply rotating the pump head and the type of fitting is machined to suit customer requirements, i.e. RJT, Din, tri-clamp, etc.

• Optional stainless steel motor shroud (cover) slots firmly into a groove in the transition housing, giving instant removal for access to the motor (no bolts) and protects the motor from the direct force of wash-down hoses.
• Replacement white silicone flexible impellers available at reasonable cost.
• All free-standing pumps are fitted with three (PD30 has four) height-adjustable feet. These are made from strong nylon with rubber pads to distribute the weight and ensure epoxy surfaced and tile floors are not damaged.

Kitset versions are available which do not include motor, mounting frame and adjustable feet although the latter two items can be purchased separately.
