Nuphlo Pumps

Centrifugal Pump Range

- Progressing Cavity Scroll Cases

Nuphlo's best features are incorporated in our stainless steel centrifugal pump range where the scroll case design ensures a true progressing cavity pump .. more about progressing cavities  ...  This, together with a streamlined impeller shape results in quiet and efficient pumps. There are four sizes of Nuphlo centrifugal pumps with capacities ranging 300 l/m (or less) to 3000 l/m:

Capabilities

  • Once primed, Nuphlo centrifugal pumps can draw against negative suction conditions up to -5m head (depending on fluid and temperature).
  • Pumping action is smooth and pulsation free.
  • By varying impeller diameters within each centrifugal pump size, the most economical motor power for a specific duty can be achieved.

Centrifugal pumps are inherently more flexible in output than any other type of pump.. more about centrifugal pumps...

Uses

  • Nuphlo centrifugal pumps are used for a wide range of liquids including beverages, cream, milk.. more applications..., fruit juice and wine.
  • Coupled to variable speed controllers (VSD’s), pressure and flow from these pumps can be controlled and inefficient throttling valves are not required.. more about variable speed controllers... Can be complimented with a 2-wheel or 4-wheel mobile trolley.
  • Are suitable where plastic pumps are not able to be used, i.e. chemical pumps, higher temperature applications.
  • Can be adapted to hydraulic motor drive or Honda motor drive where power supply is unavailable or inadequate.

Features

  • The impeller and integral stub shaft mount directly on the motor shaft enabling the impeller to be fitted much closer to the motor drive-end bearing.  As a result, there is no need for an additional outboard bearing.   Good running tolerances are achieved which is rarely the case with the traditional separate stub shaft.
  • The dynamically balanced impeller ensures vibration is virtually eliminated and a smooth running pump results.  These conditions ensure a long operating life for the mechanical shaft seal and motor bearings.
  • Impellers are secured from the non-product side of all Nuphlo pumps.  This
eliminates the internal impeller securing nut and the notorious microbial bug trap created by this nut and its thread – a typical feature on traditional pumps.  (CIP does not effectively clean under this area).
  • CIP capable to 90°C.
  • The Nuphlo rotor mounting system allows quick access to the mechanical seal and the pump can be easily dismantled and re-assembled for inspection or maintenance in less than five minutes.  Only two standard tools are needed for this operation.
  • When tightened, the seal(s) automatically preset and no further adjustment is required.
  • Standard 'O' rings and common single spring mechanical seals, available worldwide, are fitted as standard.
  • A double flushed seal arrangement and a cooled back-plate are available if higher operating temperatures are encountered e.g. hot oil at 180°C.  With the addition of a heated back-plate, the pump can be used for high melting point products.
  • For arduous duties, more specialized seals and silicon carbide hard faces are available.. more about mechanical seals...
  • Only one hygienic 'O' ring joint is used between the back-plate and the pump case.  The mechanical seal housing is an integral part of the back-plate and has no joints.
  • A streamlined and true progressing cavity scroll case is used for improved efficiency, minimizing the chance of cavitation.. more about cavitation...
  • The scroll case is fixed by a clamp ring which allows it to be set up in multiple positions to best suit the pipe-work.
  • All pump components are made by the high accuracy investment casting process in 316L stainless steel and are machined and polished to a high standard.. more about stainless steel castings... Investment castings are the best way to generate progressing cavity scroll cases.. more about investment castings...The transition housing (connecting the pump head to the motor) is also made from 316L stainless steel.
  • Inlet and outlet fittings are cast integral with the casing, not welded on (future corrosion sites) and the type of fitting is machined to suit customer requirements, i.e. RJT, DIN, tri-clamp, etc.
  • Componentry is kept common with other Nuphlo pumps.
  • The optional stainless steel shroud slots firmly into a groove in the transition housing giving instant removal for access to the motor (no bolts).
  • All free-standing pumps are fitted with three (four for larger pumps) height-adjustable feet.  These are made from strong nylon with rubber pads to distribute the weight and ensure epoxy surfaced or tile floors are not damaged.
